The Faculty of Education is the biggest since the institution was established. With the institutional vision statement of “being a university where leadership, character building and education are the pillars on which the studies rest,” the Faculty has a role to contribute to the achievement of the stated vision of the institution. This is done through academic motivational talks which feature on the University’s academic calendar of semester events.

There are three departments under the Faculty of Education. These include the Department of Education, Department of Languages and Department of Education Foundations. The Faculty is headed by Dr. K. Chimowa who holds among other certificates a Diploma in Philosophy, Diploma in Teaching Methodology, Degree in Philosophy, Masters in Philosophy of Education and a PhD in Philosophy of Education. The Faculty offers programmes of Diploma in Primary Teaching registered and accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). Other programmes include

(ii) Bachelor of Education- Social Sciences. These programmes are taught by well qualified staff in the specific area of expertise. The academic calendar starts from January to December. The faculty has certificate programmes which include

  1. Certificate in Early Childhood Education (9 months)
  2. Certificate in Nutrition (9 months)
  3. Certificate in Psycho Social Counselling (9 months)
  4. (iv) Certificate in Sign Language (9 months)
  5. Certificate in Community Development (9 months)
  6. Certificate in Computer Technology- (9 months).
Bachelor of Education in Inclusive Education
The upcoming Bachelor of Education in Inclusive Education program focuses on preparing educators to foster inclusive learning environments. Covering topics like special education methodologies and assistive technology, students will gain practical experience through internships. Graduates can pursue careers as inclusive education teachers, special education coordinators, or advocates for inclusive policies.
Bachelor of Social Science in Community Development
The upcoming Bachelor of Social Science in Community Development program is designed to equip students with skills for facilitating positive social change. The curriculum includes courses on community organizing, sustainable development, and social justice, with opportunities for practical experience through fieldwork. Graduates can pursue roles such as community development specialists, social workers, or program coordinators for non-profit organizations, contributing to community improvement and well-being.
