UNDERGRADUATE

Generic Bachelor Programmes
Applicants must have the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with six (6) credit passes, including English. Those with less than six (6) and not less than four (4) credit passes shall be required to undergo a bridging programme before being enrolled in the regular programmes.

FEES: MK550, 000 for Bachelor’s Day release

Generic-Diploma in Primary Education
School leavers and other candidates with four (4) credits, including English at MSCE level or its equivalent

Block Release & Weekend Programme
Bachelor of Education
Applicants must be Secondary school teachers with diplomas in secondary teaching. School leavers and other candidates with six (6) credits, including English at MSCE level or its equivalent.

FEES: MK450, 000 for Weekend and Block Release Programme

Diploma in Primary Education

Applicant must be Primary School Teachers with a T2 certificate. Teachers with 2 years of teaching experience, and 4 credits, including English, at MSCE level, may apply for exemption for entry into year two of the programme. School leavers and other candidates with four (4) credits, including English at MSCE level or its equivalent

FEES: MK350, 000 for Diploma Weekend and Block Release Programme

SHORT CERTIFICATE Programmes
  1. Malawian Sign Language (MSL) Offered in collaboration with Malawi National Association of the Deaf (MANAD)
  2. Early Childhood Education
  3. Information Communication and Technology
  4. Psychosocial Counselling
  5. Church Management and Entrepreneurship
  6. Church Project Proposal Writing
  7. Church and Environment
  8. Church Resource Mobilisation
Entry Qualifications: School leavers who are holders of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with a minimum of four (4) credits.
Duration: Six (6) months,
FEES: MK200, 000 Certificate programmes in all modes of study

BUSINESS COURSES

a). ABE COURSES (Both day release and weekends).
          1. Certificate in Business Essentials (Level 3)
               • MSCE or its equivalent.
               • MK40, 000 per subject.

          2. Diploma (Level 4-6) in Business Management, Marketing, Human Resources Management, Entrepreneurship, and Employability.
               • MSCE with 4 credits or its equivalent.
               • MK50, 000 per subject.

B). ICAM Courses (Both day release and weekends).
          1. Certificate in Financial Accounting.
               • MSCE or its equivalent.
               • MK40, 000 per subject.

         2. Accounting Technician/Diploma.
              • MSCE with 4 Credits or Certificate in Financial Accounting.
              • MK50, 000 per subject.

(Please note that the fees do not include registration and exam fees).

TRAINING CONDITIONS:
The training offer is on non-residential basis. Limited accommodation space on first come first serve at a fee of MK100, 000.00 per Semester for the generic and MK6, 500.00 per day for the weekends. (Interested candidates must apply first and not just deposit the fee). Food can be purchased from a service provider at the University.

METHOD OF APPLICATION:
Applicants should: Apply for only ONE Programme and indicate the Programme applying for on the application form. All applications should meet all requirements stated for the programme.

CREDIT TRANSFER AND EXEMPTIONS
Candidates who meet any of the qualifications listed above may be exempt from some course units at the discretion of the Senate based on the Exemption Committee’s recommendations from the faculty. Furthermore, a candidate registered at another accredited university may be allowed to transfer credit to the programme of interest provided by the university.
